While at an AIA class to become an AIA/CES Registered Provider, we asked an architect what was his first source of information when specifying an unfamiliar product. “The binder is first priority followed by the binder and then the binder.  If I can not find what I need there, I will go to the website and then to a colleague.  If I still don’t have the information I need I will go to the Manufacturer.”  When our President confessed honestly our frustration that the architect wouldn’t come to us first and get personal attention in less time, he responded “because salespeople waste too much of my time.  I don’t want to go golfing or have lunch, I need an answer and you in turn need to trust me that I will reward your support by specifying your products when they fit.”
